It is no coincidence that you find yourself in our story. Probably you were brought to the Kavarna Kapitanija by the love of cakes and really good Illy coffee. We are grateful that you are part of our voyage and it is right that you know more about us.

We are family Delfar from Strunjan – mother Marina, father David, daughters Ana and Iva. Our beginnings had nothing to do with confectionery, since we started with a photography that has been our main activity for many years. We always want to discover new flavors, eat well and educate ourselves in this area. After that our culinary passion has become so great that we wanted to share it with you in a way.

More than 15 years ago, we began to deal with ice cream first and thus opened the ice cream in Piran with Karamela. Marina and David are inspired by ice creams on their trips around the globe, where they explore flavors and new ideas that are then transferred to the products. The ice cream is made from fresh milk, cream and cocoa butter. For taste we use hazelnuts, chocolate, fresh fruits. We also have ice creams made exclusively from fruit, gluten free and 100% vegan.

That’s not all! There are also free of hydrogenated vegetable fats, artificial colors, artificial flavors and preservatives. Therefore there is only health!

Five years ago, besides ice cream, we also discovered the passion for confectionery, which completely took over our Ana. So much that she still has no peace in her dreams from desserts. She then gets the best ideas she needs to create in Kaptanija kitchen immediately. And that is why many times you will see desserts that you have not seen before.

Our cakes are made from real chocolate, eggs, butter, nuts, flour, curd, fruits … In this way, we express our respect for natural fresh and local ingredients.

The youngest daughter Iva, in addition to school and sports, occasionally helps working in Kapitanija.

Our mission is to pass on our passion for sweets and ice cream to you and to pamper you with them in a way that you will feel good about us.
